Romain graduated from the Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas with a postgraduate diploma in Law and Practice of Labor Relations (Droit et pratique des relations de travail – DPRT). He began his career at CMS Francis Lefebvre and then joined CVML where he became a partner in 2011, before co-founding Vivant Chiss in 2015, and Karman Associés in 2020.
Romain has set himself the objective of advising companies on all aspects of employment law, as he is convinced that rigorous, relevant and pragmatic advice is only possible through a global and transversal approach to the subject matter.
Thanks to his clients and the bonds of trust built up with some of them over the last fifteen years, Romain has also dealt with major collective disputes which have enabled him to acquire an expertise that is now recognised in the field. In addition, he has built a solid reputation in the social aspects of M&A transactions. Romain has recently been consulted by the French State on the social aspects of the transformation of the French railway system.
He has contributed to the drafting of several books and articles on labor law and regularly participates in conferences and seminars at the University.
Romain is recommended by Legal 500, which describes him as “remarkable“, and the magazine Décideurs has singled him out as one of “the 30 rising stars of the business lawyers’ community“.
